Community pathology outreach
Sample collection at local clinics, a tracked route to the laboratory, and results that come back to the patient in time to act on them.
Pathology answers the questions that matter most: what is wrong, how to treat it, and why a life was lost. We bring those answers closer to every community.
We are working so that every person can get a timely, accurate diagnosis, wherever they live.
Who we are
Pathway Diagnostics is a Ghanaian non-profit that advances access to pathology and allied services through innovation, service delivery, education, research, technology and strategic partnerships, with particular emphasis on underserved communities.
The challenge
Pathology tells a clinician whether a lump is cancer, which infection is present, and why a person died. When it is slow or far away, treatment waits.
Community outreach, clear referral pathways, telepathology and digital consultation, and pathology services where they are needed most.
Mortality surveillance and disease trends, responsible AI in pathology, digital and computational pathology, and implementation research.
Workshops and webinars, training for residents, medical students and laboratory scientists, and mentorship.
Working with universities, hospitals and laboratories, government agencies, professional societies, NGOs and international partners.
Programmes
Sample collection at local clinics, a tracked route to the laboratory, and results that come back to the patient in time to act on them.
Slides read remotely by pathologists, with AI tools that help put urgent cases first.
Turning autopsy and laboratory findings into data health teams can plan with.
Pathway Diagnostics
Every sample has a route. We make sure it arrives.
Where we are going
Today, most pathology services sit in a handful of large hospitals. We are starting in Ghana, building a reliable route from every region to a pathologist, with a model designed to grow across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, wherever a diagnosis is out of reach.
Get involved
There are many ways to help, from giving and partnering with us to sharing your expertise or learning with us. Every one of them brings a diagnosis closer to someone who is waiting for it.
